This July, Planck Length Publishing‘s flagship podcast EPIC Carteret is partnering with Wilmington-based nonprofit Narrative Arts and the Morehead City Library to launch Coastal Connections, a dynamic summer media project that gives a team of Carteret County youth real-world experience in podcast production and creative storytelling.
Hosted at the Morehead City Library and funded by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, adminstered by the Arts Council of Carteret County, this collaboration equips students with professional tools and mentorship to help them tell the stories that matter to them and to their communities. The project exemplifies the kind of mutual fruitfulness that EPIC Carteret exists to champion.
“We’ve always believed in the power of story to build stronger communities. Coastal Connections is a perfect reflection of our goals for EPIC Carteret as a podcast incubator—giving young people tools, mentorship, and a platform to grow.” — Autumn Ware, Founder, Planck Length Publishing
With guidance from professional audio producers and storytellers, these youth are learning skills that will serve them far beyond the mic. Don’t miss the debut of their work later this summer—because something epic is happening on the Crystal Coast, and this time, the next generation is telling the tale.
