Submissions are now closed for Weird Tales from Waves End Retreat.

Our editorial team is hard at work assembling this multiversal collection of strange stories from talented regional writers. The anthology will debut at our inaugural WeirdFest on April 18, 2026 at Lost Treasure Golf & Raceway.

Welcome to Planck Length Publishing

Planck Length Publishing exists to publish bold, imaginative, and thought-provoking works that expand the boundaries of literature, philosophy, and inquiry.

We ride shotgun for stories that raise questions, challenge assumptions, and ignite curiosity. Through innovative publishing methods and a commitment to accessibility, we empower a small universe of voices, ensuring the speculative arts remain as expansive and transformative as the imaginations and intellects that shape them.

Coastal Connections

A collaborative storytelling and sound project rooted in Carteret County.

This summer, PLP’s flagship podcast EPIC Carteret teamed up with Narrative Arts of Wilmington, the Morehead City Library, and a host of community partners to create Coastal Connections, a Coastal Youth Media Project storytelling initiative exploring the role of “third places” in Carteret County — places like parks, barber shops, cafés, and libraries — that play an important role in building community and preventing loneliness.

Through evocative soundscapes, audio storytelling, and field interviews, the team helped shape a new body of creative work that brings coastal voices to life.

Why Listen?

  • Stories by young, local creators

  • about our regional community spaces

  • and how to cultivate more good vibes together.

About the Press

Planck Length Publishing is a very small press dedicated to cultivating the speculative arts in coastal North Carolina and beyond. Founded in 2025 by Autumn and Jack Ware, PLP builds on the foundation of EPIC Carteret, the NC Arts Council-funded podcast that showcases the people and places that make the Crystal Coast extraordinary.

PLP’s first imprint, EPIC Carteret Books, expands this mission by publishing uplifting, place-based storytelling that highlights regional voices, history, and culture. This imprint serves as a home for poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction, and community-driven narratives that celebrate the richness of coastal life.
