The rift is open.

It’s time to draw lots.

Beneath the sun-bleached docks & rusted mobile home roofs, something stalks the shadows of Waves End Retreat, an oak-dark island trailer park in coastal North Carolina.

What is Weird Tales from Waves End Retreat?

Weird Tales from Waves End Retreat is a collection of strange stories set in a fictional Outer Banks trailer park — the kind of place where families grilled hot dogs under hurricane tarps, old men scanned for Soviet radio signals, and kids whispered about what lived in the dunes.

Each story unfolds in a different trailer — or lot — at a different point in the park’s history.
Some stories will haunt you. Others will get weird. All of them will pull you somewhere you don’t expect.

📍 Genres include: folk horror, cosmic mystery, speculative memoir, quiet hauntings, lowcountry sci-fi, sand-blasted sword and sorcery, and trailer park surrealism, to name a few.

Read the first story.

Start at Lot 1

The first Waves End Retreat story "Cheryl Bellweather and the Gratuitous Occult Nazi Plot, 1986" is available now — raw, unedited, and already coming apart at the seams.

Cheryl Bellweather showed up the day Mom left, holding a Jolt cola and a pair of bolt cutters. She’s been here ever since.

If you like Weird science-folklore docufiction with punk occult Nazi sabotage and shifting timelines on a Carolina island, this one's for you.

This version of Lot 1 will evolve over time. You’re invited to witness that process and submit a story of your own...

Write your own lot.
