Zines & Chapbooks

Ephemeral formats, enduring strangeness.

PLP’s zines and chapbooks exist at the intersection of play, philosophy, and artistic freedom.

These small-format publications allow us to explore new themes, lift unconventional voices, and conjure speculative realities in quick-turn, beautifully designed editions. Whether hand-bound or professionally printed, these works reward curiosity and support the spirit of literary experimentation.

Some are poetic. Some are peculiar. Some come with haunted dolls.

Upcoming Release

Sister B Zines

Meet Sister Bernadette: haunted nun doll, reluctant Planck Length mascot, and charmingly severe host of this quarterly zine series. Each season, she invites you into a different domain—garden, sea, feast, or forest—to share strange tales and sharp reflections pulled from the edge of the map.

Inside every volume you’ll find:

  • One weird tale in the spirit of The Twilight Zone with a hint of Southern Gothic

  • One literary or philosophical essay, drawn from folklore, botany, or the uncanny logic of everyday life

  • A seasonal activity, encouraging readers to leave the page and engage the world with curious eyes (and a pen)

These are cozy little horrors collected by Sister B, but conjured by Autumn Ware, the strange mind behind our very small press.

Event Keepsakes

Winter Hauntings 2025 Souvenir Program

Each winter, we gather for ghost stories, eerie performances, and shared chills at our Winter Hauntings event. But long after the evening ends, the stories linger.

The Winter Hauntings Souvenir Program is a beautifully designed chapbook featuring the top five stories from our annual ghost story contest, original writings inspired by local culture, and ads from community-focused businesses and organizations that make these events possible.

We’ve published a new edition every year since 2024, creating a literary keepsake that lets attendees take the magic home.

Want to collaborate? We enjoy partnering with businesses and organizations to create custom chapbook programs that extend the life of local events. Get in touch.

For Writers

In addition to supportive indie press publishing for boundary-pushing writers, we offer a suite of author services—including editing, book coaching, website design, and cover design—to champion you in bringing your work to life with professional quality and artistic integrity.

Want to Publish with PLP?

We'll soon be on the lookout for intrepid writers and artists to contribute to Mystic Flytrap Magazine, a regional literary journal in the works, and Weird Tales from Waves End Retreat, a collection of beach trailer-inspired short stories (for starters). Whether you write speculative fiction, essays that question conventional thinking, or hybrid works that defy categorization, we invite you to join our experimental literary community.
